The first day of cycling
So leaving the trials and tribulations behind us, we set off on our first day of cycling (on borrowed bikes) from Pula to Klostar. Pula is near the southern tip of the Istrian peninsula and it is an active sea port. It also has a very rich history and was a major location for the romans.
Below are a couple of shot from our hotel room at the Hotel Pula in Pula. Beautiful ocean vistas.
Our first destination was in the city of Pula itself. The roman colosseum. If I understand correctly this colosseum was built by Augustus Ceasar and was third largest in the roman empire.
From here we headed north out of the city. Countless little villages straight of a picture postcard. We had lunch at the village of Svetvincenat. We had a wonderful meal of home made pasta. Very tasty. From there we continued north to the Dvigrad ruins.
From there it was up the hill and a few more kilometers to Kloster. Kloster is a very small little town where we stayed in what they call an agriturismo.
